EPQU conference

See you in Barcelona

The Ninth International Conference for Electric Power Quality and Utilization (EPQU) takes place in Barcelona from October 8 to 11. This is definitely an event no power quality aficionado wants to miss.

So what's the big deal about attending this particular conference? For starters, consider how many new insights you'll be taking home. In fact, we can guarantee you a whole head full of interesting new knowledge. More seasoned conference goers will possibly wonder how much information they will take home they could not have looked up on the Internet. Is it worth all of this travel and time to hear only one or two presentations that reveal something important to you?

But then again, wouldn't life become a little boring if you only learned new things sitting in front of a computer? And there is a lot to be said for getting the opportunity to meet experts in your domain from all over the world. To meet the needs of industry participants who are looking for that extra bit of added value, the EPQU has added the further enticement to this year's conference with a 'Tutorial Day', October 8. See you in Barcelona.

3D Expo

See you in cyberspace

Here's something new. Now you can visit a professional exhibition without spending time and money on travelling: the new 3D Forum of Leonardo Energy makes this possible. The Leonardo Energy 3D Forum is a virtual reality environment where you can learn about sustainable energy. It is a place where users can browse, interact, follow webinars, and ask questions of experts.

The bottom line? Just like a real expo, you can learn by merely wandering around, all while leaving the opportunity open for chance encounters.

But are there enough visitors on the forum to make this happen? What, in the end, makes this tool anything more than just another gadget? We can't answer those questions definitively. When Benjamin Franklin was asked what possible use the recently invented a hot air balloon might have, he responded with the famous phrase: 'What's the use of a new born baby?' The 3D Forum is still in an experimental stadium. How it will evolve in the future will depend a great deal on how visitors like you will make use of it.
